Wonderful Iron County School District Volunteers,

We thank you for all the hours you dedicate to our students. You are an incredibly valuable part of our team and every minute you serve makes a difference in the lives of children and our entire community.

We are reaching out because Utah now requires volunteers who work with minors or who may have unsupervised access to minors in a school setting, to receive yearly training. The training will cover abuse, suicide prevention, student safety, FERPA, ethics, and reporting requirements, mandated by various state codes like Utah Code 80-8-202 and Admin Rules (R277-316, R455-16-3).

We are asking that all of our current volunteers complete this training before they return to volunteer in the classroom after the holiday break. The entire training shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes. Once the training is complete, volunteers will be marked as cleared to volunteer for schools.

The training can be accessed at https://k12.instructure.com/enroll/8KX34Y. You will be asked to enter your full legal name and email address. You will then need to click "Enroll" and then click "Enroll in Course." Once you're in the course, complete the training by reading and viewing the information and clicking "Next." The information is accessible via text, a video, or both. A short quiz and acknowledgment are at the end. Once you have a score on the quiz your training is complete.

If you don't have access to a computer or device, you can complete the training at the District Office or at the school where you volunteer during regular hours. If you have any questions or problems accessing the training, please reach out to Braylie Tullis at 435-586-2804 or brylie.tullis@ironmail.org

Again, we thank you for all that you do and the incredible skills that you offer to Our district.

Happy Holidays

Under the direction of the Iron County School District and in our ongoing effort to ensure the safety and security of every student and staff member, we are implementing a new visitor check-in process, effective immediately. We appreciate your cooperation as we make these important changes.

New Visitor Check-In Procedure
If you need to walk your child into the building in the morning, please note the following:
• You must report to the main office to sign in and receive a visitor badge.
• For the safety of our students and to reduce disruption to our learning environment, we ask that you return your visitor badge to the office as soon as possible, and exit the building by 8:55am.
• Lastly, we are now requiring that you show your ID at the doorbell prior to entrance.
Thank you for helping us create a safe environment for our students and staff.
